Scarlet Rose é uma escritora baiana que divide seu tempo entre o trabalho de psicóloga e seu amor pela escrita.

Seu amor pelo país, começou através do heavy metal, "Eu gosto muito da literatura de lá, e assim, meu primeiro contato com a Finlândia foi através do heavy metal, eu gosto muito das bandas de lá, em especial do HIM, que é uma banda que o vocalista se chama Ville Valo então homenageei Ville no livro. E primeiro eu fui nessa coisa de pesquisar sobre cultura, os costumes e acabei me apaixonando pelo país, eu tive que fazer um trabalho de pesquisa exaustivo, por não ser o país onde eu vivo. Mas no final eu fiquei super feliz que alguns finlandeses tiveram acesso ao meu livro e se sentiram lá no país contemplados." conta a escritora.

"Tem pessoas que leem meu livro em 24 horas, é um livro
relativamente pequeno e fino, e eu fiz uma escrita muito fluída e rápida no
modelo mesmo de roteiro de série de TV que a gente lê um capítulo e já quer o
segundo, então talvez por isso, pelo formato da escrita tenha gerado essa
vontade de querer um pouco mais, e eu deixei várias arestas na história, que
serão preenchidas no segundo .
Penso,em começar com o primeiro capítulo pela internet para
divulgação, mas o fim eu não sei como é que vai ser essa história, ainda está
no projeto em si, mas penso em uma coisa como um conto introdutório da
continuação do livro."
"Finlândia" embarca na mistura da fantasia com a realidade e conta a história de personagens comuns como a jovem Petra, que é bibliotecária, a garota é atormentada por conflitos emocionais do passado, ela vive dividida entre a relação conturbada que teve com Ville, professor do conservatório de música; e Aleksis, o amante perfeito surge deixando sua vida ainda mais confusa. Petra conta com a ajuda de Freya, uma velha anciã dotada de poderes sobrenaturais. E é através de caminhos improváveis e até mesmo sobre-humanos que ela encontra a resposta para suas aflições.
O que chamou muito nossa atenção foi o seu gatinho, que se transforma em ser humano, o Senhor Sombra; perguntamos a escritora se o personagem tinha alguma relação com a história a Sabrina:

"Não, não teria relação com Sabrina, mas teria relação com as
histórias de metamorfo em si, que gente escuta
desde a infância; pessoas que se transformam em lobisomens e lobos, então pensei
porque não transformar um gato, que é um ser que as vezes a gente olha para ele
e diz parece que o gato sabe tudo sobre mim, então eu quis humanizar o bichinho
de estimação da minha protagonista."
