Samuca e a Selva é um nome sonoro para uma banda, de 10
integrantes, sendo um quarteto de metais (Bio e Kiko Bonato nos saxofones,
Felippe Pipeta no trompete e Victor Fão no trombone), percussionista (Fábio
Prior), baterista (Guilherme Nakata), tecladista (Marcos Mauricio), Thiago Buda
no baixo, Samuel Samuca no vocal e flauta transversal e o guitarrista Allan
Spirandelli.
O cantor e compositor Samuel Samuca tinha um grupo - Chinela
de Palha - que trafegava pelo universo regionalista do forró, maracatu e baião
havia uma década, quando se mudou de Guaratinguetá para São Paulo e a bola de
neve começou a crescer e se desenhar mais ampla.
O leque de gêneros que gosta, do afrobeat ao pop passando
por soul, funk e MPB, o aproximaram em uma das andanças da vida e de bares de
Rodolfo Lacerda, igualmente compositor e que se tornou o 11º elemento do grupo
que se formava, mas com atuação de bastidores, e Vitor Fão, responsável pela
junção da banda, formada por músicos de bandas como Nômade Orquestra,
OBMJ,Ba-Boom e Kubata. Com essa profusão de músicos e de influências o som é
bem o que você está imaginando. Só que com doses potentes de suingue e alto
astral.
O álbum mistura latinidade com pitada afro, como na música
"Pobre do Bento"; soul que caminha para o samba rock, na canção “À
Beça”; afrobeat, funk e jazz na faixa “Esperanza (Bem-Vindo à Selva)" e
toda a regionalidade do forró, baião, maracatu em "Afobado Peito
Altivo" e "Coco Docê".
A primeira música de trabalho, Madurar, que já ganhou clipe
e que abre o CD após a introdução "Vai", leva o mesmo nome do disco.
O show de lançamento será em São Paulo, dia 28 de outubro, no Sesc Belezinho.
